Professor Christine Power

Professor Christine Power is based at the MRC Centre of Epidemiology for Child Health within the UCL Institute of Child Health where she leads the Life-course and Intergenerational epidemiology theme. For over twenty years, Christine has contributed to the design and content of the 1958 birth cohort and was recently Principal Investigator for the biomedical assessment of the cohort. Christine has a broad interest in a life-course perspective, with a particular focus on long-term outcomes of early life exposures, social factors and health, growth and the development of obesity and its associated risk factors.  She works within the DoH-funded Public Health Research Consortium to strengthen the evidence base for interventions to improve health and reduce socioeconomic inequalities.
